"Friends"

From my photo series "My Home Cambodia".

In one late afternoon, I toured through the small village of Khang Choeung to join the villagers during this special time of day.
The neighborhood kids were very curious about my camera and we had a lot of fun! This foto was captured more or less blind, with the camera sitting on a tripod and the shutter actuated with a cable. All this while I was joking with them, with hands and feet :-)

To answer a few questions: at the release point the boys were watching the dial of my light meter, that changed when making a sweeping move from light to dark. They understood the principle instantly after the demonstration, without a word spoken. Just hand signals by myself!
